Synopsis: Semper Fidelis tells the story of a conservative, straight laced military officer (Hanks) and a liberal, bra-neglecting feminist (Bening) who are forced to reunite their estranged marriage 17 years after an impulsive Las Vegas wedding when their brilliant daughter (Wood) writes a fabricated novel about their "love story" that lands at #1 on the New York Times Bestsellers list, and has signed her parents up to be the center of a documentary focusing on their seemingly perfect relationship, shot by their daughters girlfriend (Paquin) and her deranged pornographer mother (Parker).

Things get complicated when both David and Peggy's significant others (Tomei and Hounsou) crave a taste of fame, and move in to be a part of the highly anticipated documentary. While living together however, David and Peggy soon reevaluate their lives, as well as what they had been missing all those years…

What the press would say:

Critically acclaimed director Sofia Coppola tries a strange and quirky comedy on for size in this endearing and uproarious tale of an unconventional relationship gone horribly wrong. Written by the man who brought you The Truman Show, Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful) centers around the heartfelt and hilarious performances of veteran actors Annette Bening and Tom Hanks. Evan Rachel Wood is excellent as their estranged daughter with a genius mind, who emits intense emotion from the outside in. Watch for show-stealer Mary-Louise Parker as Jill's vulgar, distasteful guardian in her best silver screen performance to date. Shot completely in film, the outstanding cinematography and quirky costumes along with the superb script and direction provide a surreal and beautiful look inside the characters complicated world that makes for a striking comedy and a beautiful film throughout.
