Synopsis: From the writer and director of "Y Tu Mama, Tambien"comes a startling new look into a kidnapping, which follows the activities of the kidnappers, the accused, the victim, the hunters, and many other individuals. Josh Hartnett stars as the boyfriend of a kidnapped girl (Katie Holmes) and is being accused of being the one who took her. Dennis Quaid and Annette O'Toole play the controlling parents of the girl who decide to take matters into their own hands when their daughter disappears. Lucas Black and Jay Hernandez star as the accidental kidnappers who date rape the girl and decide to dispose of her so nobody finds out. Jeremy Piven plays a newspaper reporter who becomes obsessed with the story and begins to put the pieces together faster than the police. Billy Bob Thornton plays a detective who remains with the missing person case even after his partner (Don Cheadle) refused to help because he thought it would be a lost cause. Kathy Bates and Sam Shepard play the girl's neighbors who believe that the parents had her kidnapped. And the most important character is found in Leon's burned out beach hippie who is the only witness to the kidnapping. "The Captured" is a scary psychological thriller that will make you want to lock your doors, no matter what time of day.
